Exhibition of the Livio Sossi Editorial Illustration Award
From 28 October to 1 November
: Real Collegio / Family Palace
Exhibition of the Livio Sossi Prize for Editorial Illustration – Lucca Junior 2026
Competition, curated by Sarah Genovese
The exhibition brings together the illustrations selected by the jury of the Lucca Junior Competition – the ‘Livio Sossi’ 2026 Editorial Illustration Award.
The aim of the competition is the publication of an illustrated book based on the unpublished text ‘I me dentro di me’ written by Daniele Movarelli.
The jury, formed by the President, Paolo d’Altan (illustrator), Flavia Fiocchi (journalist, editor and editorial coordinator at LiBeR), Gud (comic artist, Art Director at Book on A Tree), Sergio Olivotti (illustrator and author) and Rosaria Punzi (Editorial Director at Lapis Edizioni) identified the winning entry and selected the most interesting illustrations and storyboards, which are featured in this exhibition between 351 entries.
Visitors to the exhibition will be able to discover how a single text can give rise to profoundly different interpretations: each artist has translated it into an original illustrated project, using different characters, techniques, styles and compositional approaches, giving shape to their own personal visions of the story.
Cecilia Fasoli’s winning project has been turned into a picture book published by Lapis Edizioni and will be previewed at this year’s Lucca Comics & Games 2026.
