Samantha Leriche-Gionet (born in Montréal, in 1985), also known by the pseudonym Boum, is a Canadian illustrator and author. After completing her training and working in the animation industry, she has been focusing primarily on comics since 2011.
She is known for her work, Boumeries, a series of autobiographical comic strips published online that humorously depict daily life, family, and creative work.
Also, she is known for her graphic novel, Jellyfish, which won several awards such as the 2025 Eisner Award, the 2025 Dough Wright Award, the 2025 Graphic Medicine Award, the 2025 Lynd Ward Graphic Novel Prize Honor Books, the 2024 Prix des libraires du Québec (as well as the Band dessinée Québec), the 2023 Bédéis Causa Awards, the 2023 Prix de la critique de la bande dessinée Québécoise, and the 2023 Prix BD adult.
She will be a guest at Lucca Comics & Games in collaboration with Tuné from 28th October to 1st November.
