Marco Civoli is an Italian journalist, television presenter, and sports reporter, widely recognized as one of the leading and iconic voices in Italian football broadcasting.
In 1988, he started working at RAI, Italy’s national public broadcaster, as sports reporter, presenter, and contributor to some of sports television programs.
Among RAI’s sports broadcastings, he worked on La Domenica Sportiva, Sports2 Sera and A Tutta B.
In 2004, after the UEFA European Championship in Portugal, Civoli replaced Gianni Cerqueti, becoming the official sports reporter of the Italian football team.
Over the years, he had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the most important Italian football figures, such as Fabio Capelli, Walter Zenga, Salvatore Bagni, and Sandro Mazzola.
The most memorable and unforgettable moment of his vast career came on 9 July 2006, when he commentated live on FIFA World Cup Final, as Italy won against France.
His legendary sports commentary, “blue sky above Berlin", has become one of the most memorable moments in Italian sports broadcasting.
After covering the national team until 2010, he continued to work at RAI, hosting several sports programs such as La Domenica Sportiva and holding the position of vice director at Rai Sport from 2014 to 2016.
He retired from RAI in 2022 and continues to work as sports commentator for Calcissimo (on Top Calcio 24) and still takes part in sports television programs.
