Jung Ji-hoon, known as JH, entered the world of webtoons in 2009 with his best-known work What I Want to Tell You, showcasing his ability to portray complex and tormented / anguished characters with remarkable sensitivity. His work was published in print editions in Italy by Gaijin in 2026.
In 2016, Jung Ji-hoon created his most significant work, The Horizon, which caused a huge stir in the landscape of webtoons with its depth and philosophical message. It has been translated and published in many countries as well as it was well received by critics. In particular, it earned a 2024 Eisner Award nomination, the most prestigious award in the comic book industry, for Best U.S Edition of International Material – Asia and won the Yellow Kid award at Lucca Comic & Games 2026 as Comic of the Year.
Furthermore, his following works have earned multiple praises by the audience and critics. In 2017, Mosquito War won the Excellence Award in the Cartoon Webtoon category at the 2019 SF Awards, whereas The Boxer (2019-2022) won the Korea Creative Content Agency Director’s award, the 2021 Today’s Our Cartoon Award, and the Grand Globe Award at 2021 Golden Bridge Awards.
JH will be a guest at Lucca Comic & Games in collaboration with Gaijin to showcase his third and final issue of What I Want to Tell You (and its box set). The last two variant covers of What I Want to Tell You and The Horizon will be published there.
