Sara Pichelli, born in 1983, lives in Rome, Italy. She is an Italian comic artist best known for co-creating the visual design of Miles Morales, the new version of Ultimate Spider-Man. In 2008, she began her collaboration with Marvel Comics after winning the Chesterquest contest. She has worked on several Marvel’s titles, including NYX, Namora and X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy, among others.
It was thanks to her work on the second issue of Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man and the co-creating of Miles Morales that, in September 2011, Pichelli won an Eagle Award and a Harvey Award. In addition, she won two Stan Lee awards in 2012.
In 2014, she became part of Marvel’s Young Guns artists. In 2017, Sara Pichelli returned to the direction of Spider-Man, and then, she chose to focus mainly on the second chapter of Spider-Man series with B.M. Bendis.
Between 2018 and 2019, she contributed to the relaunch of Fantastic Four, written by Dan Slott. From 2020 and 2021, Sara worked on a special issue of Spider-Man written by the American director J.J. Abrams and his son Henry. Between 2022 and 2023, she worked on the debut of her first solo series, Scarlet Witch, written by the acclaimed writer Steve Orlando.
She will be a guest at Lucca Comics & Games in collaboration with Mirage Comics from 28th October to 1st November 2026.
