Martina Ponente, better known as Meridyan Art, is a freelance illustrator from Palermo, born in 1998. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo with a degree in Layout and Visualisation Techniques and, in 2024, also completed a degree in Digital Animation.
She has collaborated with both Italian and international publishers, including Mondadori, Castoro Off, Rizzoli, Newton Compton, Loewe Verlag, Ars Edition, and CINNA. She has also created promotional artwork for C.S. Pacat, Leigh Bardugo, and Brandon Rogers.
In 2024, she published the Reading Journal with Castoro Off, a fully illustrated graphic project distinguished by its dreamy, vintage-inspired aesthetic. Alongside her passion for drawing, she loves reading, writing, and, more recently, cooking. She also enjoys encouraging fellow creatives and has taught illustration techniques for several publishing organisations in Palermo.
Anemoia. Una favola perduta di amore e caos is her debut novel, a queer Gothic story created in collaboration with writer Gabriella Giliberti, to be released on November 3rd by Il Castoro OFF.
She will be at Lucca Comics & Games from October 30 to November 1st.
