Born in Modena, is one of Italy's most acclaimed fantasy authors, having been translated into several languages. She is also the recipient of numerous awards, including the Premio Selezione Bancarellino. She is committed to promoting creative writing and holds workshops and events in schools. Passionate about archaeology, history, role-playing games, comics, and animation, she has considered Lucca Comics & Games an unmissable event since her university days, when she couldn’t imagine she would, one day, present her own stories there. This year Cecilia returns to Lucca to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of her debut with Hyperversum (Giunti), the novel that started the bestselling eponymous saga.
The author will be the guest of honour at a special event marking the twentieth anniversary of Hyperversum – the main focus of her visit – and will take part in a number of sessions on fantasy and the world of the imagination.
