Roberto Recchioni is an Italian director, film reviewer, journalist, game developer, content creator, illustrator, comic artist, novelist and screenwriter, born in Rome in 1974. For ten years, he served as editor and lead writer for the Dylan Dog book series, published by Sergio Bonelli Editore, and also created many iconic characters such as Tex, Diabolik, Batman, and Mickey Mouse.
He produces several series and comic books, including John Doe and Detective Dante. Moreover, he created Battaglia, David Murphy: 911 and Orfani with Lorenzo Bartoli.
His graphic novel Mater Morbi won countless Italian awards and was published internationally by various publishers. His works include The Chambara – La via del Samurai, and Monolith – which was adapted into an international movie titled La Fine della Ragione and Roma sarà distrutta in un giorno.
He also worked on several comics connected to cinema, including They Call me Jeed and I Can Quit Whenever I Want: Masterclass. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with numerous international authors, publishers, and Italian artists.
Over the past few years, he has been collaborating with Max Pezzali for creating his comic books, which have been published worldwide.
Furthermore, he is the screenwriter of the newest TV series of Manetti Bros, L’Ombra.
He will be a guest at Lucca Comics & Games in collaboration with Mirage Comics from 28th October to 1st November. In addition, he will showcase his upcoming comics titles Paladino’s, written by Roberto Recchioni and illustrated by Federico Mele.
