Ukrainian author and illustrator born in 1991. Raised among the pages of fairy-tale books, she dreamed from childhood of creating her own worlds, even if the path to get there was anything but straightforward. After studying theatrical and historical costume design, she came to realise that her place was not in sewing those costumes, but in drawing them and imagining the characters who would wear them.
The turning point came when she decided to dedicate herself fully to illustration and comics. That journey was abruptly interrupted by the Russian invasion of Ukraine: the explosions, the evacuation train, life as a refugee in foreign countries. Yet, upon returning to her hometown, she found something unexpected: freshly planted flowers, a dance school, a ceramics studio that had just opened on her street. Amid the destruction, people kept choosing to create. And it was then that she understood there is no perfect moment to pursue your dreams.
Red Huntress & The Big Bad Wolf was born almost as a joke, a playful alternate retelling of Little Red Riding Hood, and grew into something far greater: a series followed by more than 10,000 readers on Webtoon, with over 117,000 views. A story in which the protagonist is both Red Riding Hood and the Huntress, a reflection of a universal inner conflict between curiosity and fear, freedom and control. In this story, the Wolf is not the villain: it is the unknown we carry within ourselves.
Sarà presente a Lucca Comics & Games dal 29 ottobre al 1° novembre.
