Author, producer and entrepreneur Iginio Straffi is the founder and President of Rainbow and one of the Italian figures who have contributed most significantly to building an entertainment industry capable of competing on the international stage.
Straffi began his career in comics, working as an author for leading publishers including Sergio Bonelli Editore. He later worked in animation with international studios in France and Luxembourg, gaining experience that would help shape his approach to content creation and production.
In 1995, he returned to Italy and founded Rainbow in Loreto, in the Marche region. Originally established as an animation studio, Rainbow grew steadily to become an international company focused on the creation, production and distribution of content, as well as the development and management of intellectual properties and licensing activities.
Over the years, driven by a constant pursuit of new creative and entrepreneurial challenges, Straffi progressively broadened his scope, leading the growth and diversification of the Rainbow Group, which today brings together companies and expertise spanning different areas of the audiovisual and entertainment industries. The Group includes Rainbow, Rainbow CGI, Tridimensional, Bardel Entertainment, 247 Production and Colorado Film, of which Straffi is President.
Creator of Winx Club, which became an international phenomenon and one of the most recognizable Italian entertainment properties worldwide, Straffi has continued to develop new projects over the years, expanding his work from animation to live action, from feature films to series for television and streaming platforms.
