Alongside the major phenomena already embedded in the global imagination, Lucca Comics & Games also looks to the growth of new narrative universes. Marko Djurdjevic, internationally renowned artist, concept designer and author, will bring Orken to the festival, the dark-fantasy project created by SIXMOREVODKA, the studio led by Djurdjevic himself, and presented for the first time in Lucca 2017.
At its center is Edom, a primordial world inhabited by orcs far removed from the stereotype of legendary monsters: archaic figures, guardians of an ancient civilization, immersed in a universe built through myth, geography, cultures, religions and historical memory.
The strength of Orken lies in its transmedia approach: artbooks, narrative materials and new editorial developments contribute to the construction of a coherent and recognizable world, open to comics, illustration and epic storytelling, with the participation of Italian artists such as Gigi Cavenago and Matteo Scalera, authors of the artbook variant covers.
