What could be better than trying out a new game? Playing it alongside the very people who designed it! ‘Play with the Designer’ is back again this year – one of the festival’s most eagerly awaited and engaging events, designed to give you the chance to meet game designers face-to-face and discover what goes on behind the scenes of game creation.
A unique opportunity to experience the game from a different perspective: sitting down at the table directly with the people who actually create the games. Whether they’re Italian or international designers, you’ll have the chance to discover behind-the-scenes stories, interesting facts, never-before-seen mechanics and perhaps even some exclusive previews, all whilst playing alongside them.
It’s not just a game: it’s an immersive experience at the very heart of the revamped Games Café. A welcoming space, entirely dedicated to those who love board and role-playing games and want to share this passion directly with the people who create them.
This year, the activities will be run by the Games Café’s Ludoteca team, who will handle bookings and welcome you to the gaming tables, guiding you through each session and helping you make the most of this experience. We are delighted to confirm, once again this year, our valuable collaboration with SAZ Italia, the Italian branch of Europe’s leading association of game designers, which will bring many designers to the table, ready to share their talent, their ideas and – of course – their games with you!
Whether you’re an experienced player or simply curious, ‘Play with the Designer’ is the place for you. It’s an opportunity to learn, have fun and perhaps discover your next favourite game, right alongside its designer.
