Lucca Comics & Games 2026 is set to feature a unique project: LEGO® Italia is unveiling the Time Capsule, a striking brick installation destined to become the centrepiece of the pavilion set up in Piazza LEGO® (i.e. Piazza San Romano).
Designed and built entirely by LEGO® Certified Professional Riccardo Zangelmi, the capsule is intended to house and preserve a selection of the LEGO® sets most loved by the public: fan favourite models capable of evoking a special memory or an unforgettable moment.
At the end of the festival, the artwork will be sealed and donated to the city, and housed within the exhibition ‘Lucca Legacy: a Comics & Games story’, with the aim of becoming part of the collection of the future Lucca Comics Museum. The 60th anniversary of the Tuscan festival coincides with another important milestone: the 10th anniversary of the opening of the first LEGO® Certified Store in Italy.
But which bricks will have the honour of making this journey through time until 2086, the year the Capsule is due to be reopened? It will be the community itself that decides: fans will be able to cast their votes at the LEGO® pop-up, playing a key role in choosing which sets will convey today’s passion to the builders of tomorrow.
The ‘LEGO® square’ will thus prove to be the ideal meeting place for all enthusiasts. To mark this tenth anniversary, the LEGO pop-up will take centre stage with dedicated activities, exclusive goodies and LEGO® Insiders initiatives designed for the fan community, supported locally by the presence of outstanding partners such as MediaWorld, Toys Center with Play4Ever, Dadi & Mattoncini and Covo del Nerd.
