The Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lucca is one of the festival’s long-standing partners: this collaboration includes the significant role played by the Palazzo delle Esposizioni and the Auditorium in Piazza San Martino, which host major exhibitions, presentations and meetings with authors throughout the festival. This ongoing support for the event was also evident at the Lucca Comics Awards during the ‘Changes’ edition of the festival for the Best Newcomer Comic Artist award, as well as the regular participation of the foundation’s representative, Elizabeth Franchini, in the charity auctions organised by Area Performance, featuring works created live by renowned illustrators and artists during the event.
This year, the Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lucca, delighted to enrich its collection, has acquired the original artwork for the Lucca60 Legacy poster, created by the master Claudio Castellini. The artwork, which represents the 60-year bond between Lucca and the world of comics, will thus remain in Lucca. The work will be on display during the festival as part of the ‘Tocchi da maestro’ exhibition, hosted at the Foundation’s Palazzo delle Esposizioni, alongside other illustrations that trace the key stages in the artist’s career; from Italy to the United States, he has redefined the aesthetics of modern superheroes.
