On the twentieth anniversary of Italy’s 2006 World Cup victory, Lucca Comics & Games becomes the playing field for an unprecedented challenge: an 11-a-side match that will see champions of global comics “on the pitch”.
And if it is true that - as Vujadin Boskov used to say - “the ball goes in when God wants”, the match - promoted by Mirage Comics - will be played by two exceptional teams: Italy vs Rest of the World, in a match to the last panel.
Ninety minutes of pure adrenaline in which 11 Italian authors and artists will challenge 11 international authors and artists in the live creation of two stories, based on unpublished scripts by the two “captains” Michael Bendis and Roberto Recchioni.
The first players for the two rival teams have also been announced: Alex Maleev and Sara Pichelli.
In the commentary booth Marco Civoli, the Rai voice of the unforgettable 2006 Berlin final. This unprecedented challenge will animate the Auditorium San Romano on 29 October.
