The Lucca Comics & Games ‘Campfires’, the event’s official outposts across the country, are set to return in 2026. The specialist shops selling comics, games and fantasy fiction taking part in the initiative will bring a festival to life across the country, creating opportunities for fans and local communities to meet and enjoy themselves.
Until 10 October 2026, the Campfires will host tournaments, gaming days, meet-ups and events dedicated to fans. Until 10 October, over 1,300 free tickets for Lucca Comics & Games 2026 will be up for grabs, awarded to winners and participants in the organised activities. The participating shops will be recognisable by their official Lucca Comics & Games branding.
The Campfire project was launched with the aim of recognising and promoting the role of specialist shops within the cultural and commercial sector. The initiative enables shops to become an active part of the Lucca Comics & Games ecosystem, strengthening the bond between publishers, the public and the local area.
In collaboration with Lucca, each shop will be able to offer dedicated activities and experiences designed to engage the public, make the most of their physical spaces and strengthen the relationship between fans and their trusted retailers. Access to the events will be free of charge and will take place in accordance with the regulations governing the retail sector.
Thanks to collaboration with publishers and partners, each shop will be able to create its own calendar of events, helping to ensure the initiative is widespread and accessible throughout the country. The activities organised by the shops will be promoted through their own channels and on the official Lucca Comics & Games channels.
And given the success of last year’s edition, the crossover between Campfire and Ruolimpiadi, the long-standing role-playing competition linked to Lucca Comics & Games, will return this year. Participants will be able to tackle new adventures created specifically for the initiative and compete to secure a place in the final stage. The winning teams will have the chance to compete in the final in Lucca during the event, taking centre stage at one of the most eagerly anticipated events in the role-playing community.
With this new edition, Campfire reaffirms its role as a link between the festival and local communities, bringing the Lucca Comics & Games experience into shops and offering the public new opportunities to meet, play and share their passions.
