Now it’s Midnight.” With this slogan, Marvel launches Midnight, a new editorial line that blends the language of superheroes with that of horror, offering a fresh take on Marvel’s icons through body horror, splatter and cosmic horror. Kicking off the line are Spider-Man, the X-Men and the Fantastic Four, published in Italy simultaneously with their US release. Together with Jonathan Hickman, Philip Kennedy Johnson and C.B. Cebulski, we explore the origins of this new editorial project, its creative ambitions and the way in which horror is redefining the boundaries of superhero comics.
