Born out of a collaboration between Jonathan Hickman, Marco Checchetto and David Messina, under the supervision of C.B. Cebulski, Ultimate Spider-Man was tasked not only with the challenging task of reinventing the quintessential superhero icon for a new generation of readers, but also with laying the foundations for a new Ultimate Universe. Within two years, the project had become one of the greatest publishing successes in contemporary Marvel, redefining characters, dynamics and audience expectations. Together for the first time, the entire creative team looks back on the birth and evolution of this extraordinary publishing adventure, from the initial ideas right through to the establishment of a universe that has won over readers and critics alike all over the world.
